ISTQB® Certified Tester – Mobile Application Testing (CT-MAT)

ISTQB® is the leading global certification scheme in software testing. Polteq is accredited by ISTQB® as a training provider. The use of mobile apps has become indispensable in our time. They are becoming increasingly important to businesses and users alike. So it is also increasingly important that these apps be of sufficient quality and well-suited to customer expectations. This, of course, applies to native and hybrid apps as well as web apps. So as a tester, you need to pay attention to the specific aspects that come with testing a mobile app. You should think of, for example:

• Using analysis data as input to test strategy
• Testing specific non-functional features of mobile apps, such as app store approval, localization, power consumption, permissions and input methods
• Usability of the app, both functionally and in terms of usability/UX
• Using personas and heuristics for test design and execution
• The wonderful world of development platforms and tools, emulators and simulators and setting up a test lab

The two-day ISTQB® Certified Tester Mobile Application Testing course provides a theoretical introduction to mobile app testing, supplemented by a number of hands-on practical assignments that can be performed on one’s own Android phone. Of course, Android devices are available if you don’t have an Android phone of your own. A series of mock exams will allow the participant to prepare properly for the exam. Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a voucher with which they may choose to receive an be able to take the exam online or physically. For groups of at least five participants, a classroom exam can also be held. This exam is in English in the form of a multiple choice exam. For groups of at least five, a classroom exam can also be held.

Prerequisite for certification is that the participant has the ISTQB® Foundation certificate. If the participant does not already possess that certification, an exam can still be taken, but the participant will not yet receive the ‘ISTQB® Certified Tester Mobile Application Testing’ certificate.
